'Scotland the Brave?'
This documentary charts a very personal look at the issues Scotland faces as it contemplates independence. Julie visits her home town and various historic Scottish locations trying to pin down just how much history and identity are playing a role in the run up to the vote. Her trip to the Edinburgh Festival provides a humorous look at the big questions and of course the politicians have their say. We couldn't stop them! Julie's documentary mirrors the thoughts of many Scots. Some who want the vote to go away and those who see it as a historic chance to break away from 300 years of union. 'Conversations with a Serial Killer '
Julie was nervous to front this series. To make sense of the paranormal as a journalist is tricky - no matter how good the investigation. Ex cop and psychic Bobby Marchesso and Julie took a road trip across the US delving into the case history of some of the world's most notorious Serial Killers. They had access to old files and the key people on each investiagtion. Holding the original dental mould which forced the jury to convict Ted Bundy and the shoes that Eilleen Wournos wore when she was executed was an experience she'll never forget. The series aired across the globe. Some called it mawkish, some loved it and want Series 2. It's not on Julie's to do list right now! She's much more comfortable dealing with news as it unfolds, than delving into the past and the paranormal.

A Life In News...
Julie has what you could call an eclectic life in news. Working both as an international News Anchor based in London and a reporter and TV Presenter in Britain might seem like an odd mix. She loves it! Julie is more recognisable on the streets of Islamabad and Israel and in London's East end where Al Jazeera is a favourite. When Julie first came back from anchoring the news in Doha, she wanted to do some more reporting. Fresh off the plane form Islamabad and a trip spent hiding in the hotel basement thanks to bomb threats, it was her old job at Five News that came calling. To this day it's a fabulous team of brilliant reporters and she was honoured to go back. Her first story was as the story slug called it 'Dog down Toilet'.. No bombs, no hiding just 2 little boys who accidentally wahsed their very cute puppy down the loo. At first she wasn't sure her brain would remember how to tell those stories but thankfully it did and suddenly she felt very much at home. Since then, Julie has reported on Albino foxes, salsa grannies and even ear lobe plastic surgery. And they have provided fantastic light relief to travelling to stories where there's too much human suffering to imagine. She counts herself very lucky to be reporting whatever the story... Here you can take a look at her Live coverage of the Royal Gala Premier for the latest Bond movie. Daniel Craig had man flu and Dame Judi Dench had a diamante tattoo of a 007 revolver on her neck... All in a day's work.
